Institutions for STI
This track concerns the study of institutions, understood as formal arrangements (e.g. laws and decrees) and informal (e.g. decision-making processes within the instances of national or regional innovation systems) that regulate the relationships between people and both public and private organizations in aspects of science, technology and innovation (STI). Some of these relationships are defined through public policy or custom, hence the importance of institutional capacities for design, adaptation to changing environments, implementation and evaluation of policies and programs, as well as for the development of STI activities that result from these policies and programs.
